Who are we?

Campingkompas is an online platform that lets users save visited campsites, favourite places, trip planning, photos, reviews and personal notes.

What data do we collect?

We only collect data that is needed to make Campingkompas work properly and to provide our services.

• first and last name, username and email address;
• account details and encrypted password;
• selected language, country settings and other preferences;
• campsites, stays, trip planning, favourites and wishlist items saved by you;
• photos, notes, reviews and comments that you add yourself;
• Premium or subscription status and payment information where needed for processing;
• communication by email or through the contact form;
• technical data such as IP address, browser, device, session data, log data and cookie preferences.

Why do we process your data?

We use personal data only for purposes that fit Campingkompas and the operation of the website.

• creating and managing your account;
• saving and displaying your personal campsites, photos, reviews, stays and notes;
• providing free and Premium functionality;
• processing subscriptions, payments and administrative obligations;
• sending service messages and important information about your account;

• improving, securing and maintaining the website;

Premium subscriptions and payments

When you choose Premium, we process the data needed to activate, manage and verify your subscription.

For payments, Campingkompas may use an external payment provider. We receive only the information needed to verify that a payment has succeeded and which subscription is active. We do not store full credit card details or full bank details ourselves.

Campsites and information added by users

Campingkompas is designed to record your own camping experiences. Data you add to your own account, such as stays, photos, reviews, notes, favourites and trip planning, is personal and linked to your account.

General campsite information, such as name, country, region, city, address, website, email address, telephone number, coordinates and facilities, may be used to improve the shared campsite database. Personal data such as your stay, photos, notes, reviews, favourites or trip planning is not simply shared with other users.

Photos and visual material

You can add photos to your account or to campsite cards. By uploading photos, you confirm that you have the right to use those photos.

Do not upload photos in which other people are recognisable without their permission. Campingkompas does not use user-uploaded photos for external marketing without permission, unless clearly stated otherwise.

Contact form and email

When you contact us through the contact form or by email, we process the data you provide yourself. This may include your name, email address, subject, message content and technical data needed to process the message.

We use this data only to answer your question or handle your request.

Cookies and similar technologies

Campingkompas uses cookies and similar technologies to make the website work properly. Functional cookies are needed for things such as login, sessions and preferences.

When you delete your account, your personal data is deleted or anonymised unless we are legally required to keep certain data for longer.
